Interpretation of the ICILA and ICILASONG chairs
for a high-end interior application
Story of LinKa I and LINKA II, a chair can hide 2 others
In 2020, confinement forces us to reinvent and reassess our convictions: my meeting with Benoit Morel, author of the posdcasts on design “the line” and “Take a chair”, then his publishing project convinces me to offer a new trajectory to the history of design of ICILA / ICILASONG dedicated to urban and garden use.
The challenge of this order for the high-end interior goes beyond updating, it is a question here of adapting these designer furniture to the uses and perception of a high-end interior object. I accepted the challenge of making this mobile chair (lightened by 28 Kg) and more comfortable thanks to a tapestry technique developed with the SIEGEAIR workshops so that the whole preserves its original design: a cantilever chair, from a seamless folded die-cut sheet of metal.
